The dates that matter
Art Basel Miami Beach 2026 takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The public days are Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6. The real action starts earlier: the invitation-only VIP Days run from Wednesday, December 2 (from 4 pm) and Thursday, December 3. Serious collectors arrive by Monday or Tuesday to settle in before the previews.
Around the main fair, Miami Art Week fills the whole city with satellite fairs, gallery openings, brand dinners and parties, from Miami Beach to the Design District and Wynwood.
Where to stay
Book early. Hotels on Collins Avenue and in South Beach sell out and raise rates sharply for Art Week. For groups and families, a private villa is often the better choice: more space, privacy for hosting, and a private chef for the night you would rather not fight for a table. Why a yacht is the smartest address in town
Traffic on the causeways during Art Week is notorious. A yacht solves three problems at once: it is a private place to host clients, a calm retreat between fairs, and a way to move along the water while the roads stand still. Many of our clients charter a yacht for a sunset reception after the VIP preview, or for a full day to recover between fairs. Miami Beach Marina sits closest to the Convention Center.
Getting around
A dedicated chauffeur for the week is worth every dollar. Fair entrances, gallery dinners and late-night events can be miles apart, and rideshare surge pricing is extreme. We arrange cars, Sprinters for groups, and airport or FBO pickups timed to your arrival.
